2024 Photo Voice Project

We are proud to announce the launch of the 2024 Participatory Photography (Photo Voice) Project! Entries are open to all Wayland community members from February 1-April 26, 2024.

The theme of this project is change in our community. Whether this means changes you’ve seen in your community, changes you’ve seen in the world, change that you would like to see around you, or your own unique interpretation of the theme - we would love to hear from you about what change in your community means to you.

We encourage anyone interested to submit 1-10 photos, along with a short written component to help create a digital storytelling narrative surrounding your photos, which should be at least 1 paragraph long, but can be as long as you like. Up to 4 entries are allowed per person, and entries will be accepted from February 1 - April 26, 2024!

After all submissions have been received, winners will be chosen in May to receive gift cards and other prizes, donated from local businesses and charity organizations.

If you have any questions, or don’t feel like you have access to a camera, please feel free to reach out to one of our team members for more information!

  • Participatory photography is designed to encourage community members to explore their voice, digital storytelling abilities, and self-advocacy skills, and share what they see in their surrounding environment.

For more information about our inspiration, visit photovoice.org.

  • We encourage as much creativity as possible with this project! All we ask is that entrants submit 1-10 photos, and an accompanying text entry one paragraph or longer, to explain why you picked your photos and create a narrative of some sort to go along with them.

    Be creative!

  • Entries can be submitted through email to Megan Wohlfarth. Contact information can be found on the Contact Us page.
